I tried to shrink the primary partition w/vista on it, but it tells me that there is "0 MB" available for shrinking. Must be some system files that are keeping me from taking over that area. I got a compatibility warning w/Partition Magic in vista. Any other 3rd party partitioners you would recommend?

Thats what I'M SAYING. The built-in doesn't want to shrink my volume. Ah, I've officially given up anyways. Looks like Vista has ensnared me completely.

i had to install vista 2 times because the first installation didnt work...the second installation doesnt work either...so i ended up reformatting the second harddrive i was install vista to hoping i can do a fresh start...but that wasnt the case because i found out vista also installed stuff on windows XP...all of the files are in the C drive, also the booting screen has 2 Windows vista, one XP and a Setup restore (which has no use for me). is there a way i can get rid of the vista boot options and all the files it left behind in XP?

i tried system restoring already, doesnt work.

There are several ways to do this. One is to use VistaBootPRO to remove them. Open the VistaBootPRO and delete those options that you don't want from the boot menu.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I tried the PM8 demo, I got a warning saying its questionable in Vista. I didn't want to try my luck.

That's weird. Normally, it is very easy to shrink a partition in vista.
