I was installing the latest ATI drivers to get the NFS carbon game to work on my computer, while it was doing this it randomly shut off I tried to turn it on but nothing happened it was just a blank screen so i turned it off and back onand I remembered a post on here that I read about speeding up boot times, so I disabled the floppy drive and saved that, when it loaded it said that system file System32/config or something like that was missing or corrupted I was like ZOMG cause I knew it was an important file, and I had tried to cut down on the programs that my computer uses in the MSConfig thing earlier tho i only unchecked the ones that someone said to like the remote access control remote registry and those. I stuck in the windows disk (because the error screen said it might work) pressed r and it said that the HDD wasn't detected or working properly so i was like *** i thought I had to reinstall. So I go to the Bios and set everything to the default. And then I try again and windows loads slowly but it loaded and i was oh so happy but I still dont know what caused this in the first place. Speedfan says my HDD is ok, and I went back to the MSconfig thing and nothing that is unchecked is a Microsoft corporation thing except for the ones that were ok to turn off.

I really would like for this to never happen again.

Have to be careful when turning services off, might want to try fixmbr in the recovery console. Fixed my PC after it would not POST at all. Ran that and it worked fine after well had to get all my updates and such redownloaded but now Windows works.
