Default Can anyone show me how to bypass winxp pro login screen?

Ok, I forgot my password because I havent used this computer in literally a year, so im pretty sure its WinXP Professional, SP2.... I remember you used to be able to reset everything if you booted in safemode, but it keeps giving me a login screen. Any help?

Can I? Yes
Can I tell you how? No
Can you ask and not be violating the ToS? No
Sorry, not allowed to help, its technically illegal because the programs that do this are against OCN's ToS

It's alright, you can try to find out for yourself, try googling maybe, but be careful, the programs that tend do do this are shady.

Another option would be, if you have a extra harddrive, boot from a linux live cd and copy all your data off the harddrive onto a backup and do a fresh installation.

I have an idea on how to do it without any programs. Would that still be against the ToS??

Unless there's an Administrator profile already set up, you can't. If you're using the welcome screen and don't see an Administrator profile, then you can't get in without a hacker program. If you're not using the welcome screen, try typing in Administrator as the login with no password, and see where that gets you.

Uh..how is this against the ToS? You claim all programs that can hack into the account are illegal softwares.

Crap. I had a link before that shows how you can bypass the password if you forgot it using the Windows CD. Let me try to find it.

Yes "All programs that hack into the account" are against the ToS. See thats the thing, if the program gains access to the computer by by-passing the password, as he originally asked for, it is technically against the ToS because, honestly you know as well as I that those programs were designed to be used on other peoples computers more than their own property.

This is a very grey area is all I was trying to imply. It can be done, but its difficult to help you, but at the same time stay within the rules of OCN.
