Just as the title says. This started yesterday, updating worked fine previously.

I found this:
Here is the answer to your problems. Go to your control panel under add and remove programs you will see a hot fix for kb929777. Uninstall this hot fix. Windows will tell you to reboot, do it. Download the kb929777 for the windows website not the auto update site, (if you do it will install the hot fix first before the kb929777 and then kb929777 will not install again). After successful update you will need to reboot. check for updates( there should be none and your history should show successful update on the kb929777. I also took out 3 gb of mem. before I did this but before it would still not download until I removed the hot fix, so I DO NOT KNOW IF YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE MEM. FIRST. But try it with the mem. in first and it may save you a step.

well, that's weird. I've had that same problem but it was because the day/month/year AND time was wrong. check your timezone and the time posted.

Everythings seems right, exept that windows couldn't connect to time.windows.com, so I selected an other one, wich did work correctly, but the error still persists if I try windows update

Try checking out what the error message is, take the code, and browse it on google, maybe there are different solutions.
Oh, also go to MY COMPUTER, right click go in properties and check on your CD key, see if it's still there etc..

Cd key is still there, and as far as I see the only solution is by uninstalling that update I don't have..

Have you officially activated your copy of Vista? I am sure you may did but would like to know. In the setup screen, these is a option states that activate vista when the internet connection is available. If you uncheck it, then your copy may haven't activated yet.
