OK so I have a couple problems I cant figure out with my Vista networking.
My school has a wireless network with the SSID hidden. I created a profile so that it would be recognized and auto connect but it still always see's it as unnamed and I now have 3 or 4 "fau" networks from the diff access points (I assume it makes a new one for each MAC address). The second occured when I have both my ethernet and wireless connections enabled. . It wont let my connect to the internet wirelessly if I have my ethernet cord plugged in or even enabled. has anyone heard of either of these issues (sorry its poorly written . . class just let out so i gtg.)

Why your school has a hidden SSID, I have no idea, it adds no extra security and with the right tools can easily be found...but thats a different story. How did you create a profile for it? Did you do it with a WLAN setup utility? And as far as I know, on most laptops when the wireless switch is on, you can't use a wired network and vice versa.
