Default Having a weird MCE problem.

I am having an issue with my MCE 2005. It has been working fine with the integrated geforce 6100 chipset, and today I disabled my onboard and installed an ati x1300 pro pci-express card. I installed the drivers from the ati website under the mce os. Now when I try to load up live tv, play a recorded show, or play a dvd, it gives me a decoder error and tells me the decoder may not be installed. After that I uninstalled/reinstalled powerdvd. Still nogo. removed powerdvd, and installed the nvidia decoder. That didn't work, so I removed it, and installed Windvd. Still receiving the same message, and I'm not quite sure what to do. I'm thinking I'm just gonna reinstall the MCE 2005.

Anyone have any other ideas??

Thanks for the suggestion, but the vlc player will not work internally in media center. I have no trouble watching videos/dvds in media player or powerdvd, but for some reason the media center is giving me the decoder issue. I used the Microsoft decoder checker utility, and it lists my decoder, but I am still getting an error.

Try CCCP. You can also use the Insurgent to check for any installed codecs that may be conflicting, but don't try to remove them with the Insurgent, as that may be dangerous.

If you can't remove them via Add or Remove Programs, google it or ask here.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I finally figured out the root of my problem. After installing about 10 different video drivers, I figured out that I did not have the Avivo codecs installed. ATI should really put those on the same page as the display driversand the catalyst control center downloads. You have to click 3 links from that page just to get to the page to download the avivo codecs.
