Every time I start windows the welcome center pops up and I check the box that says do not show again, but it still does. This is the same for the sidebar. Now I have already looked into this a lot now and I've tried to delete the registry files and the oobefldr.dll (which vista wont even let me do) and still nothing. Has anybody had this problem and know a solution?

Well, you could go to the Control Panel and in there you should have a Welcome Center menu. Then you can choose to "run at startup" or not.
Or, use this more intensive way of fixing the problem: 1. Start Regedit. 2. Navigate through HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion, Run. 3. Right click on the WindowsWelcomeCenter key and select Delete.

wow thats wierd. Just a shot in the dark (and maybe n00b advice coming from me), but is there something in Start->Run->Msconfig making it reset itself on startup by chance?
