Iv had this problem forever. Ever since iv had XP. But iv never worried about it until now.
__________________See, everytime i connect something to my computer via USB, on any of my 8 ports, a message says "this device can perform faster". I go into device manager and all my ports are 2.0 and in my manual it says that they are 2.0. And i cant install USB 2.0 drivers for XP since they are SUPPOSED to be installed with SP2. And i know i have SP2. When i try to installed USB 2.0 drivers it says that i dont need to and that the installation will now cancel. So w t f? Am i using another wonderful Microsoft product? And the reason it bothers me now is cuz its taking forever to transfer videos off my flash card. Videos are about 400mb each. So it takes like 30mins. And thats uncalled for.

How old is the comp? Maybe the ports themselves are not usb 2.0.

Go into your BIOS, to your chipset options and make sure that your USB is on 2.0 mode

Go into device manager and see if any of the USB hubs are 'enhanced'. If not, they probably need a driver update.

Don't you have to install a USB 2.0 Driver after you install SP2?

Windows will not let you install USB 2.0 drivers if SP2 is installed. It will tell you that there is no need to install it and it will cancel the installation, iv tried many times many different ways..
