Call Microsoft to activate it. The online route won't work since you've already activated it on previous hardware (I believe). Tell them you got a new computer or upgraded your old one or something.
They don't want you to have it active on more than one PC at a time however. 1 Key = 1 computer.

If it is a Retail Key, it should not be a problem. Maybe a call to M$ will be required.
If it is an OEM Key, buy another copy. Under the Vista OEM/System builders/etc license agreement you cannot transfer it to another PC.

Mines said it was already being used; since it asked for me to reactivate due to hardware changes (I changed my CPU but changed it back after my motherboard wouldn't overclock the Quad). I called up Microsoft, talked to some computer for 10 minutes, and it works.

OEM's can have new keys, it just take some convincing to get the customer service at Microsoft to give it.
__________________First time I did it I told them I needed a new key, they noticed I had an OEM so I played dumb and told them thats what I was sent. I kept my story the same and never changed it and I got a new key.

That can work, but it's illegal. It's also technically a piracy infraction of OCN rules:

Sorry forgot to mention. I own a OEM copy. But it was used on the same computer, same hardware.
