Ok so I got a DFI Infinity 975X from a fellow member and finally got the CPU and RAM a few days ago. I install Win and go about downloading the drivers like usual. Keep in mind, I was hooked up to the internet at the time. I turn off the computer and go to work. 8 hours later, Win refuses to find a previously working NIC.
So, I do countless reinstalls with no avail. I'm starting to get ticked off here... I did not pay for a new computer to have it work for only a few minutes. My last resort is to reinstall Win... and I would really like to avoid that route. What I did: Came home and tried to activate Win Net not found, only 1394 LAN NIC is nowhere to be found at all Overwrite install drivers, no go Delete all network adapters from device manager, nope Uninstall, reinstall, restart, still no NIC Here on OCN... I'm really baffled here. EDIT: I'm gonna try and clear CMOS and see if that helps.

Have you tried resetting cmos that fixes it some times and double check your board makes sure you aint got a standoff in wrong place grounding out the board. I did that in past and screwed up the nic and onboard sound.

I could have sworn it was a software problem... Clearing CMOS did help. Now I gotta see if it'll actually hook up to the internet.
