OK, no newb here, installed 239o847x213 OS's on many computers. My vista install is fubar. I can rarely boot without a bsod. I even get bsod in safe mode. I get these codes, 1A, A, 1, 1E. Sometimes just bsod without error code. My memory is fine, before this started happening i was restoring an OC to factory settings to run mark and test it, cleared the cmos. I installed mark and speedfan and a few monitoring utils, some of which didnt work os i uninstalled. All I can think of is one of the utils dropped in some bad reg or driver and f'd vista. Restore point did moot. Heres my question I have 4GB ram. I noticed that the 4+ for 32bit is only for intel procs. I don't like vista, but have it as my only option, I also have 32-bit of vista and 32 and 64 of XP. Which OS should I use, I would imagine vista uses more memory for crap then I would lose using a 32bit XP. Anyone have any opinion. Time is of the essence here, backing up docs now

I'd go with XP 64-bit since you got 4GB ram
Vista has not given me any issues, now I have had some third party driver issues but nothing that is Vista's fault. You could check and verify all drivers are up to date and Vista compatible. Other than that like I said go with XP
