Default Windows partition question

I just re-imaged a Laptop that had 1 actual HDD with 2 partitions.

When I re-imaged it though Vista, didn't give me the option to make 1 huge drive. Anybody know why?

I've already begin reloading the programs on this laptop, can I delete the addition partition without having to reformat?
