Hello,
__________________I have Windows XP Pro and I have an internal SATA HDD (no USB at all) with partition C and D. The system is on C and the data on D. Now the XP made some magic and both C and D drives are reported as a removable USB device and I can safely remove them. Unfortunately D was removed . However no real USB devices are recognized at all. The main goal would be to reconnect my D drive with data, but all partition handler tools report that the partition is used. Any idea, how to solve this? Thanks in advance!

Hey MicroSun, no need to worry, Windows isnt recognising them as a USB, Because you may not have a SATA controller or it may not be set correctly in the BIOS this could be why, It use to happen with me, on my nForce 680i Motherboars, Now i have a P35 Board, Also again It isnt recognising it as a USB
If you go here Gigabyte P35-DS3R Downloads And scroll down you will see SATA RAID Like that look below and see if any of the drivers apply to you, Also make sure you check your BIOS Settings Hope Ive Helped lol

Mine does something similar to that. I ran XP Home and it recognises my SATA drive as a removeable one. Don't know why, but I ignore it anyway

Thanks, but Windows boots up correctly from the C partition of the same drive. In this case BIOS settings should be correct, shouldn't be?

Hmm ok, If you cant fix it, i would just ignore it, I do and it didnt bother me in the slightest, It dosnt effect performance or the way your computer will run, But if you can try updating your motherboard drivers, and Checking your BIOS to make sure everything is ok
