I want both of my computers to shut off or hiberenate if they've just been sitting around doing nothing for more than an hour or 2. Not that I'm too lazy to shut them off, I live with a bunch of women and they never shut anything off.
![]() Anyways, I tied using power schemes, set to hibernate at 1 hour. It didn't work. I tried setting it to standby. It didn't work. If I go to Start> Turn Off Computer> Standby (or even Hibernate), it works just fine like that. Also, If I set power schemes to 1 minute (just doing a test to see if it really worked) It shuts it down after the 1 minute. don't want to leave at 1 minute though, that would annoy everyone in the house including me. Does anyone have any idea why it won't work if set too 1 hour??? Both systems do this and both systems are almost identical.

There is a fee program called Smart Shutdown that might fit your needs, it forces the type of shutdown you want (including hibernate) after a set period of user inactivity.
