Default Please Stop Saying Vista Sucks!

I am tired of people saying that Vista sucks. Yep, XP is faster to some degree and has more compatibility with hardware. But think back about 6 years ago when XP came out. Remember how the new OS was rape on your specs. There was so many bugs, and it sucked too kind of like... Vista does now! And ~5 years from now when MS releases Windows Xxxxx people will complain that it eats your RAM and is too buggy, and people won't want to leave Vista. So please, don't hate the newest MS Windows. I'm not saying go out and buy it, just please quit pointing out Vista's flaws because after sp ~2 you won't want to leave it. And you know, Vista has some advantages besides a GUI that whores your resourses and DX10.

Honestly before I installed Vista on my sig rig I thought I would only switch to Vista if someone threatened to kill me if I didn't.

(Also if I sounded like a flaming bastard then sorry )

Edit: Just found this picture and thought it was funnny.

I like it. Have 4 copies
1x Windows Home Premium
1x Windows Basic
1x Windows Business
1x Windows Ultimate

Unless you're going to run iis, only choice is home premium. It's definitely buggy, but not comparatively to what xp was when first released, and if ms wanted to they could make it faster. But why when they have to keep padding the hardware companies on the back? I like it, it boots faster definitely and for everyday computing and pc idiots its a great os.

For the people that are old enough to remember, this is exactly how XP was welcomed into the PC world. People complained about the visual changes, and how it made things slower. Now look where XP is. Any OS just needs adoption time, and it is not just Microsoft's fault that the adoption is slow. Windows is used by so many people, and unlike OSX, uses mostly 3rd party hardware. Because of this, the 3rd party developers also have to get drivers out.

I have Vista on 5 machines, and it is vastly superior to XP in my opinion. More stable, and is actually faster on my slower machines. With the enhanced memory addressing and management built into Vista, I never recommend XP anymore.

Other then my 7800GT dying ( unrelated ) while using vista the experience has been wonderful. I imagine most people frustration comes with either brand spanking new hardware like the new gpu's from nvidia or people with OLD hardware that shouldn't be running vista to begin with.

I'm middle of the pack and things have been nice. I did need to get more ram but once I did things were great.

If you have never tried the OS or tried it for less than a month, I don't want to hear your opinion, so be quiet.
If you have used vista for longer than this and you don't like it, I don't want to hear your opinion.
If you have used vista for longer than this and you do like it, I still don't want to hear your opinion.

My point is, stop arguing over which one is better and just use the one that works better for you and that you happen to like more. If someone has an issue with Vista, just help them, or don't respond to the thread.

Thank you
bruestle2

ps: I like and use Vista on my two computers. Vista Business x64 and Vista Home premium x86
