No, DirectX 10 is NOT available for XP. Only Vista. There are hacks available through google.....to force certain games to work in XP that were released for Vista only. Its not advised by me at least...but it is possible. But you CANNOT have DirectX 10 in XP...I don't even think Microsoft has any plans to release it for XP ever.

No.

DX10 is no go for XP.

The DX10 API is completely different and is coded for Vista.

Any hacked version for XP is not true DX10 and will be mainly some kind of poor emulation.

If you want DX10 then its Vista time.

This is as close as it gets, from a reputable source anyway. It is not 100% stable, still in "alpha" testing; not a "hack", but a well-written set of compatible libraries by professionals. I have tried it, and I noticed a DRAMATIC difference and I saw no crashes; despite that, it is still "at your own risk". To ensure that I am on "this side of the TOS", I have linked a site which reviews it, rather than the source.

Umm... Halo 2 is directx 9 even though it requires Vista. Proof

The hack you refer to "tricks" it into reading the OS as Vista; doesn't affect the DX setup.

Resolution and overall quality; No noticeable lag, but FPS is slightly lowered however (only tested it with FlightX).

Halo 2 is DX9.....It just does not allow to be ran under XP as it was a gimmick for Vista. However there is a tweak you can do to allow it to work under XP.
