Default ok well internet wont work after i installed windows XP, whats wrong?

i tried everything, restarted it, the verizon cd, reset and restarted the modem with the comp on and off, nothing works, checked all the settings and BS, all seems fine, says its connected, but when i look it says its getting 0 packets received and 0 sent? how do i fix it?

you need to reset the modems settings. Verizons 800 number can walk yo through it but I think you can google your modem model and there are instructions. Very easy to do.

no, he is talking about the 1800 support number that you need to call to reset your modem with the tech.

the 168.191....that is your ip address

ooo so you have to call? no he also needs his drivers, his graphics are choppy, he has a sony, would he be able to download them all from their website? he lost the cd that had it all

it was a P4 2.8ghz, thats all i remember

ok aksthem1 was right, i called verizon and they sent me to sony and found out i needed the drivers, problem is, my friend doesnt have the CD with the lan drivers on them, and i can download them online, but can i put them on a cd and will it work right when i put the cd in his computer?

Yes, it will probably be in an .exe or .zip format, you can save them to a cd or a usb jump drive, and just run them on his computer and that should get it up and running.
