I installed Windows XP off of a disc but it doesn't have any Service Packs loaded on it and I do have a Dell XP disk with SP2 on it but is there anyway for me to run the SP2 install off the Dell disk and just the SP2 install itself?

I think it's intergrated, you'll have to download it seperatly. You may be able to do it at the public library if your internet is slow.

Just use the Dell disk and choose to upgrade. It will go through the re-install and then all your files/folders/user accounts will still be there and you'll have XP SP2.
Unless the Dell disk is OEM and won't work with your current hardware. That's the only problem I can see.

You want to Slipstream the SP2 drivers into your original XP installation disk. Here is a helpful link:
Slipstreaming Windows XP with Service Pack 2

Well that would be easier, just download SP2 from M$ (the link above) and then install that.
Done. Didn't realize you could download SP2 without. I mean, I didn't know it had a stand alone install. Edit: Ok, no web access. Then do what I said. ![]() Edit2: How the heck are you on OCN if you have no interwebs?

Tried to upgrade through the Dell disk...asked for my CD key which I put in and it said its invalid.

You don't have the key specifically for your Dell disk?

No its just one I've had sitting in my case for awhile - it was from a client's dell that I fixed up but I didn't write the key down.

Well then, you are most likely not going to be able to do anything with that particular disk. You'll have to obtain a copy of XP w/SP2 integrated or get interweb access and download SP2 and install it.
-OR- Do what he said.
