Hey all,
__________________I'm trying to reduce the number of characters in my mp3 file names as a lot of programs seem to have problems tagging them. Any ideas? Is there any way to get Vista 64bit to do it automatically? I have 4000 files and doing it manually is not really an option.

You could probably write a simple Windows script to rename all files in a directory... (not my specialty).
A brief search yielded this using VBA: http://www.aota.net/forums/archive/i...p/t-22544.html

Using something like Media Monkey. You can set it to rename all your filenames based on whatever ID tag parameters you want. For example you can set it to rename:
<Artist> - <Song Name> - <Album>.mp3 It also does Auto-tagging where it'll search Amazon and fill it all misc. details and album art for your ID tags.

I know I saw a good, free, small app from Roxio... I'll be right back if I can find it again

Yeah, I downloaded Media Monkey, but it requires you to rename all those 4000 songs manually, I was hoping for something simpler. And I'm not quite sure how to use those scripts. lol
