Default Installed XP, hangs!!

Hi Folks,

I'm finally messing with this Acer T180 that I got for free.
It had Vista home basic installed, which is crap and the os was borked.

Anyway I installed XP, all went well until the restart after the user accounts set up.
It's hanging at the load screen, it'll boot safemode so I figure it's a driver issue.
The problem is that I can't figure out which drivers, I've gone through bios and disabled all of the non essentials.
I'm thinking that the built in multimedia card reader might the culprit, but there is nothing in bios for it.

Any ideas?

Thanks

When I had my Asus P5KC it sometimes had problems loading XP. I doubt this will work, but it worked for me:

while loading shut off the PSU with the switch on the back of it. If it doesn't have a switch unplug it. Plug it back in and start up the computer and see if it works.

I know it sounds bizarre, but it was the only way I got my Asus p5kc to load windows.

Edit: and this was after I installed my LAN driver.

Figured it out

The disk I was using had ATI drivers slipstreamed in, needed Nvidia drivers

+1 for trying Bulldog
