Default Windows stuck at loading screen, loads forever.

It's a laptop, a Dell Lattitude D820. I've tried everything I know to try...

At first it had an admin pass on the Recovery Console so I had to edit the SAM file, adn I've tried chkdsk /r, fixboot and fixmbr and nothing is working. After the chkdsk it DID go into Windows, where I got rid of all the startup programs, ran CCleaner registry cleaner (over 900 problems!) and rebooted...same thing...

It will go into safe mode, but only if I leave it alone for like an hour.

It has some important programs that arent backed up (story of my life ), so I'd like to get it up and running again...
Anymore suggestions before I nuke the Windows install?

I have check the HDD with the onboard Dell diag and UBCD......

I had the same problem recently, only it was a fresh install.
Booted safemode so I knew it was a driver issue, turns out I used my ATI slipstreamed disk in an Nvidia system.
Got into safemode an uninstalled the gfx drivers and restarted fine.

REP+ but I'm positive it's not that...it was a perfectly running machine for about a year.

I would try reinstalling chipset drivers in safe mode + networking. That seems to solve a good deal of problems. The chance of that fixing it is slim though. This one's tough. Whenever I had this happen to me I just reinstalled, but seeing as you can't, you're in a tough spot. Next time put the important stuff on a different partition.
