I've reinstalled windows numerous times and have never encountered this problem...
__________________I installed all my drivers and stuff, checked under the hardware manager to double check everything is installed, checked under my network connections which shows I do have a connection, but when i try firefox or IE I can't connect for some reason. I don't have a firewall up so that couldn't be the problem... I'm also behind a router and switch, which never gave me problems before, but maybe that could be causing it? I'm not sure what to try next so if anyone's got a suggestion I would appreciate it.

Alright after looking at a few things here's what I found out...
__________________My network looks something like this Upstairs= modem, router and a computer. From the router I have a wire running downstairs which leads into a switch which then has two cables going to my xbox and other pc (the one that isn't working). The xbox 360 can connect to live with no problems, and the kicker is that the pc (the one that can't connect) can see that the xbox is on its network... I mean, under network settings it shows that the comp is connected to the internet so it should be working no problems... That's what is confusing me the most.

Have you reversed the cables to the computer and the Xbox to see if the Xbox still works with the other connection?

So I am connected to the network but firefox and internet explorer are saying I'm not... I mean I can get an ipconfig with all the proper settings and everything that's why this is so confusing. Also, I can't connect to any messengers or other things such as the Itunes store.
