Hey guys, I know there's a thread in the Deals section about this but that mostly concerns when people will receive it and whatnot.
__________________I need to know if these copies of Vista that you get through the program are OEM or Full Retail. Anyone that has evidence of either please post it here. Has anyone installed/uninstalled/and then installed on a different machine with the same copy? I need to know because I bought this here at OCN advertised as "FULL RETAIL" with no mention of the Windows Feedback Program. While I feel that is a bit dishonest I'm willing to not make a deal of it as long as this truly can be installed and then legally reinstalled after a mobo change but some have said it's OEM. I haven't heard any actual evidence either way though. Anyone?? brad

Probably retail. If MS provided you with OEM, then they would be assuming you plan to sell it... which I doubt.

Most are saying that it's retail but I haven't seen anyone say, "I know for sure it's retail and have installed it on different consecutive systems" or something like that. So someone passed along an email address and I emailed someone from the MS Feedback Program. I will post their answer here.

if you have access to the key you can also just ask MS direct.

I already got a response back but the responder clearly did not understand the question.

I responded and clarified my question. I suspect I might just get referred back to "my licensing agreement" (which I assume is on the Windows disc?) We'll see. brad

Every copy MS gives out is retail boxes, not OEM. OEM is only for system builders (although a lot of people use it otherwise >.> )

I'm pretty sure that they are giving out full versions for two reasons. 1) I think they said that somewhere in the deal's information. 2) Ultimate retail comes with both 32 and 64bit CDs, whereas OEM is generally only 32bit.
