Installation issue with Vista 64 bit Ultimate

Hey Guys,
__________________I have just finished building a new PC for a mate specs are as follows: EVGA 7801 mobo Q6600 cpu 4 gig corsair ram 2x 8800 gt video in sli 250g seagate barracuta hard drive x-fi sound card I just ran the install for vista, which started fine installed but upon restart the main status bar displays then go to a lovley BSOD with a code of 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF8000145E251, 0xFFFFF98001AD2E58, 0xFFFFF98001AD2830) What does this mean?, can anyone tell me my problem and how to fix it. Thanks

Install with 2GB of ram. Install ALL updates or SP1 then reinstall the other 2GB of ram. Its a glitch in the original relese of Vista.
Had the same prob :-)

Thanks mate, pulled a 2gb stick out and it works. Downloading Vista sp1 now.

Does this happen all the time with 4GB of RAM for everyone no matter the mobo or the RAM or does it happen selectively just with some people?

98% of users get a BSOD with 4 gb of ram, there are a tiny amount of exceptions but in most cases yes this happens all the time.

There is also a 4GB fix on the microsoft website as a downloadable as apackage.

I think this is what happened to me, although never had an issue before my GX2's.
I installed the OS everything was fine, downloaded all the Microsoft Updates and upon reboot BSOD, i restarted in Safe Mode again BSOD. I simply couldn't boot up again.
