Default BSOD look-up please

I keep getting some BSOD's and google isn't showing up anything (partially because I dont know the whole number lol)

I keep getting:

(0x (bunch of 0's) 124, 0x866f2218, 0x(B?)2000040, 0x00000800)

I took a pic of it with my camera phone but the image isn't up to par. . . I completely forgot to see the title . . mostly bc I was pissed off as i was in the middle of a game. . . any help would be appreciated . .Ill try to get a better I dea of whats going on next time it happens.

Thanks in advance . .

Looks like it pertains to an Nvidia driver of some sort from what I read, you could try driver cleaner an nuke all Nvidia drivers then re-install the latest versions?

When windows has a BSOD it leaves a memory dump file somewhere in the windows folder (the exact path escapes me at the moment.) There's a support file on microsoft's site that allows you to view these files and the device and driver name which created the fatal error. Try looking for Dumpchk.exe on microsoft's site.

Add: Also all those numbers and letters (A-F) are exact memory locations.

As I recall, there was a problem with the 7900 series drivers and vista that I read about when trying to help my friend with the same problem.

Hmm, the only time I ever receive stop code 124 is when my OC is bad (e.g. vcore lacking during prime95).

this code is apparently a sound driver issue with vista and nvidia chipset mobo's. It doesn't matter which card you have but the onboard ones and creative cards seem to be the most common ones with this fault.

To resolve it you need to uninstall nvidia active armour (if you have it installed) and clean install the latest version of your soundcard drivers.

This information was taken directly from nvidia and Microsoft support.
