First of all... way too many X's in the title!
__________________On my new build, im wondering which XP to install. I do have a 64 bit CPU, but I was leary of going for it because I heard of bad driver support. I'm not sold on Vista yet, but maybe down the road. Long story short, should I get x86 or x64 of XP? Does it make a large amount of difference? Thanks!

From what I heard you better off installing XP x86. Now if you going to use 4gigs of memory you are better off going Vista x64. Don't believe the stories of Vista. It a very good os now with sp1 it is better.

I've used both and as I've said time and time again. The only good thing about Vista is that with the 64 bit came increased support to XP x64. I utilize the 64 bit version of XP and throughly enjoy it. Only problem so far is I can't run any of my REALLY old games like Sim Tower because they're 16 bit. I prefer x64 just because of the full utilization of my processor and the fact that some games actually preform in 64 bits (UT2004). I know that my system seems to like x64 more then XP Pro in terms of loading and process handeling. Just seems to run faster.

XP64 has shoddy driver support. You're better to go with vista for a windows x64 os than XP64

Go for vista x64. Vista can actually use your 4gb of ram. But, if you need xp, then xp86 is the way to go.

Go with XP x64. Next person to say XP x64 has bad driver support, please include some specific examples of hardware that has drivers for Vista 64 and not for XP x64. ![]() Otherwise, your posts are meaningless.

For xp, 32bit makes more sense. Ive had trouble getting older games to work in 64bit, which turned me off to it.

Which games did you have trouble with? Every one I have tried has worked, including really old ones such as Quake II.
