ok, i just installed XP on my laptop to do a dual boot, but something went wrong and it didnt work, but i still had the partition then i boot into windows today and that partition is missing along with my D:\. how can i fix it, any ideas? oh, and in system properties it shows 2 unknown devices

Go into computer management in XP and see if the partitions show up in there. If they do, see if you can get them to mount.
