Default Have I Been Hacked???

About six days ago I turned on iTunes and found that everything (music and music timer) ran 1/3 tempo. I restarted iTunes to no avail. Then I rebooted. When I did I found that audio that runs when XP starts ran at 1/3 tempo as well.

So I reinstalled XP home. Didn't help. I've been scratching my head trying to figure this out. Now when I went install some new windows updates (the ones below) I've found that I can't.

Security Update for Windows XP (KB951376)
Cumulative Security Update for ActiveX Killbits for Windows XP (KB950760)

Any ideas? Has anyone else tried installing these updates and had trouble as well?

The only event that has occurred around six days ago was a change from the FAH 6.10 beta SMP to 5.92 SMP. Nothing else that I can think of.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

If you reinstalled XP Home and formatted, then it was something other than that. Audio Hardware, Drivers, Speakers, Wires, etc.

I didn't reformat when I reinstalled XP home. I'm hoping to avoid that. I tried reinstalling the DFI audio drivers (did that prior to reinstalling XP) and no luck. The fact that the music timer on iTunes runs @ 1/3 speed (along with the audio) had me thinking it isn't speakers or wire.

Will swap that out next. Anyone else not able to install micrsoft updates in the last week or so?
