Hi,

My friend is getting allot of errors when installing anything. Windows vista 32bit keeps on claiming that files in the installation are corrupted. windows host process keeps crashing along with other programs like steam crash during the update process. This copy of vista was a fresh installation installed 3 days ago.
drivers have been installed for everything except his sound card. because they wont install at all.

Thanks for your help

Have you try windows update? When program crash Vista will send a report to Microsoft. Try this, GO TO Start> on the search bar type "Problem reports and solutions". Click on it and see if there any solution or use the "Check for New Solutions". It will send reports and find solutions.

Did you do a fresh install or just a repair? Sometimes this can have a wonky effect on the install giving all sorts of problems elsewhere. Try formatting and and starting again from scratch.

I sometimes format a drive a few times before installing an O/S just to try and get rid of any old data that could potentialy give trouble. Even had to use Ultimate Boot CD tools on one Seagate that wouldn't format properly from a Windows CD for some reason.
