Default Vista 64bit, power down problem

Hey guys, Just recently I have been having problems with powering down my PC. If I keep it on for more than 3-4 hours, it just simply won't turn off, go into standy by, hibernate etc etc.

I have to press and hold the power button to shut it off, and in doing this it wipes all my saved preferences for desktop progs, MSN Messenger etc.

It's also completely stopped my internet from working, I have all the newest nForce drivers, ethernet networking etc. Such is my dismay, I am seriously thinking of taking out 4 gig of RAM and installing Vista 32bit. As the only reason I got Vista 64bit was to get 8 gig of RAM.

I just can't seem to get on with 64bit, it's extremely buggy, and I am at the end of my tether.

This was happening to my friend on a fresh install. All we did was clear the CMOS and it started powering down.

Ya I have SP1 with my OEM disc, It's all updated and whatnot.

I am going to go out shortly, and I just know it's not going to shut down again without having to do it manualy.

I think Vista 32bit is the way forward unfortunately.
