Default Stuttering

So I'm using Windows Server 2008 x64 trial, and I'm having stuttering in bf2142, a low 3dmark06 score, and a low openGL test score in Cinebench. I was wondering if people that use Desktop versions of Vista have these problems too? Maybe there is something I need to enable/disable?

I have tried 175 and 169 whql drivers.

Perhaps the server OS or just the fact that it's a trial hampers your GPU performance. It could also be your drivers. Not necessarily the version, but the fact that they might have different ones for server 2008.

The other probablility is that your cpu at 2.8 ghz is a bottleneck to your gpu. I know my quad is bottlenecking even at 3.2 ghz as a small cpu raise increases my 3dmark score quite a bit. With that water setup plus a lapped cpu you should be able to hit a higher OC, unless you got an unlucky chip.

Well...I was at 3.15, but I think my mobo is degrading and I haven't been able to use higher fsbs stable recently. It's a shame it doesn't have a higher multi. It was fine playing games in xp64 at my current oc. I'll look into the drivers tho.

I have another question now: How do I disable the swap? I'd like to see if that would help the stuttering.

Well I installed Crysis, and it seems to not stutter in it at all (now I'm extra happy with 4gb of ram: while crysis was running, used like 2.5gb). I think I'll run 3dmark06 again at a higher oc and see how much a difference it makes.
Maybe bf2142 just doesn't like Vista64?

Awesome, putting my cpu back up to 2.8 ghz made my score in 3dmark06 go up to 11,171. This seems about right, considering in XP I got about 11.5k at 2.8ghz.

So I guess battlefield is just a little wonky...

Edit: The openGL drivers seem to be lacking however.
