just wonderin if i go with vista 64bit for my new comp, will i still be able to run all my old 32bit apps or at least most of them? would compatibility mode take care of this? i have old win95 games and some other utilities that are 32bit and want to be able to use them

yes sir they do!
Some win95 games will not work due to them being 16 bit which just flat out cannot run in a 64bit environment, some can work in compatibility mode for functionality

Yes, it will run 32bit apps just like normal apps. You won't have to use compatibility mode just because it's 32bit, but if it was made for an old version of Windows like win95, then you may need to run it in compatibility mode.
Well, 16bit apps would theoretically be able to run, but Microsoft decided it wasn't an important feature. I agree; I've never seen a 16bit app, lol... ![]()

i find myself in about the same situation that one the people in that thread mentioned. i only feature i would really use would be full backup and like he said acronis does that and so much more, even if i had ultimate i would still get acronis. does ultimate give u any more control over you computer\settings and such that premium?

You have your answer from previous posts. Only bad thing about 64-bit is that sometimes you need to run 32-bit application to run things. e.g. Internet Explorer for 64-bit is not compatible with any flash application, so the user have to use 32-bit explorer to view youtube and such. So, when something is not working, you need to be aware and alter between 64 and 32-bit application.
