Default Is SP3 + AMD CPU a no-go still?

Will I kill my xp install if I install sp3 on a rig with an amd cpu in it?

The problem was limited to only AMD-based HP machines. The installation image that they were using for XP was loading an Intel power management driver, and did some weird stuff. I think the problem has been fixed, but if you don't have an HP there is no problem to begin with.

I've avoided SP3 due to it being bloated to make me wish I went to VISTA instead.

Also, F@H and some games have issues with SP3 as they run at the same time. The games like to minimize once launched. They stay that way no matter what until F@H is stopped.

Dumb SP3. Dumb M$.

I'm running SP3 and have no problems at all with both an Opteron 1210 and a 4000+ X2 Brisbane thats in my sig rig temporarily. I also can't tell any difference from SP2, XP seems exactly the same to me with SP3.

If you have WinXP MCE I wouldnt load it either. The media center programs does not recognize the OS as MCE2005 and will not run. I had to reload the PC to access my Extender.
