Default Need Help!!!

OK I have a Compaq Presario 2100 Laptop and recently the harddrive failed... I got a replacement cheap and got it back running ... however Compaq in all their glory and brilliance (i say this with scarcasm) put the image to restore the entire PC as an image on the hard drive ... I was running XP home and I have a OEM install disk of XP Home ... however it will not take the Product key that is on the sticker on the bottom of the laptop .... Now I don't know what to do .. I can use my OEM Key of my copy of XP home which belongs to my P4 ... but i really don't want to have my Key on multiple computers. What should I do ...

And before anyone says anything ... I know Compaq sucks

Call MS support and tell them what happened. They should be able to give you a different product key granted only your HDD changed.
