Default Vista 64bit or 32bit

Hi,

I am currently running vista Home prem 32bit with 4 gig of ram and SP1. i was wondering if it is worth getting 64bit and if so how do I go about getting the disc.

You'll be able to utilize the full 4 gigs in vista 64.

Check out Newegg if you're looking to purchase a new version.

Edit: Didn't see your location...I don't think Newegg ships overseas (Do they?). I've got no idea where to look for new stuff in London! Could check out your local PC shop.

If you bought the retail version of Vista you can send it in to Microsoft and they will send you a 64bit disk for $10.

I fould 64bit to be more stable than 32bit and you can fully use your 4gbs.

Ok Thanks, Are there any performance gains. I was informed today that Vista SP1 supports 4 gigs now is this true.

A 32bit OS can't support 4 gigs of ram. Only 3.75 I believe.

Try Overclockers UK, or e-bay.

I find that 64 bit is a tad more stable, but uses more RAM.

Go w/ the 64bit version. It gives the ram increase. Its a lot nicer than the 32 for OC'ing.
