Dell + xp repairing system files probelms. Im stuck
Don't you guys just proprietary XP install discs! anyways so im stuck im working on a dell and i needed to restore the system files so i used the dell xp disc and tried to restore the system files. well all was working out fine till...it came to some files on the disc that couldnt be read.. first thought was disc scratched and it is and it is scratched in a circle with the disc with the burn. so its messed up bad. and its not just a scratched it is also warped . i also scleaned both CD-ROMs lens still nothing does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this. should i have to order another install disc from dell i dunno im stuck on this one .

Try the wax CD fix in my sig, it could work, if not, get a new one.

I had a similar issue with the next door neighbors HP and 2K Pro. I used my 2K Pro disk when it asked for files
