Vista stopped working. Help!
I've been using Windows Vista for a little while now and I've come to understand that it works well for the OS it's cracked up to be. I however had a large problem earlier today. I decided I was going to install Alcohol 120% (an older version) and when the install was almost finished it asked about installing a driver I told it to and the pc BSOD'ed when I started it up again it came up normal but when I log in it says it's installing a driver then it does a BSOD.. sometimes I don't even need to log in, it just does it. I tried restarting in safe mode but it won't even go to the login screen, it just BSOD's.
I wanna know if anyone has a fix for this? Maybe a offline system restore? P.S. I got too much important stuff on the windows partition so formating is kinda out of the question..

Put in your vista CD and do a system restore off the CD.

Press F8 while booting, choose 'last known good configuration' then uninstall the driver or use system restore once in Vista.
If that doesn't work Penicilyns suggestion would work.

You will need to use a newer version of Alcohol. I believe the last older version that will work on Vista is 1.9.6.5429.
