standard vista wims are around 3gbs(iirc), unless u strip away the multiple vista versions inside them, like i've with my vista dvd which is just ultimate x64. what i want to say is that if u have just enough space on a dvd, u could actually fit ur custom wim image on to a dvd. microsoft uses compression on their wims, so why couldnt we? just gota figure it out
time to start reading on how to compress .wims

ya its nice, i've done it thru norton ghost by broadcasting the images from a server to client computers.

I could make that. I don't think it would be too useful here though, you know? Most people are home users here, and PXE is really only useful on a large scale. When it's only a few computers, WinPE would be easier.

No, they are bigger than 3 GB. I'll have to look at a WIM i've made with only 1 install in it to confirm, but I never had it at that size. As far as fitting it on a dvd, you could if you had a dual layer dvd. You're not gonna get it on a regular dvd. WIMs are already compressed, so I don't really know what you're suggesting.

What would be very usefull, and very kind of you. To make a guide how to boot diskless windows machines for folding/seti. I know this is going complete offtopic now.
