Does Aero suck resources when it's not in view (i.e. you have a full screen app/game running?)

I read this from another guide I don't know where, but it said it will use the number of cores you selected to boot up as opposed to the standard 1. I can't test this because I'm still using my P4.

Nice!!!

Is it possible to move the speaker volume without it moving the other volume levels? On XP x64 my sound was 10x louder than it is in vista x64.

Schlitzamen, i think you'll have to do it from the Audio control panel for your onboard sound, not from Vista.

in vista each app has its own volume slide when the app is active. just double click the speaker in the tool bar at the bottom right hand side of the screen.

Here is quite a good guide

http://www.extremetech.com/article2/...2110595,00.asp

got a few extra bits in it, also at the start of your guide you say not to disable superfetch, but at the end you say "some other things you may want to consider are" and include it there, personaly i disable it

Cheers
