It's a little smaller than 20GB. It's closer to 15GB I believe.

My install without SP1 is 18GB. I believe SP1 adds 1-2GB (this is with Hibernate (2GB) and system restore off as well).

On my new install, it was around 9GB, but that was using VLite

ok that's not true lol, but it does have most major components preinstalled.

just did a clean install on my 74gig raptor and it says I have 18gb left after only installing vista ultimate with sp1
formatted with 1 partition
So i dont know whats wrong

For some, that is true. If you take a look at the printer section, it installs printer drivers for every company.

And this isn't Vista Ultimate 64 SP1, that has around 1GB in printer drivers I believe.

Are you sure it was a clean install, because vista backs up the older installs to C:/Windows.old/
Was the drive fully formatted before the install?

(its safe to just delete that folder if you have all your old data backed up BTW)
