anyone here know of Vista Glazz it's used to enable the use of custom themes on vista well apparently it is SP1 incompatible (would have been nice too mention it somewhere on the website) I have installed it and patched with it Now when I boot my PC all I get is this error on a black screen Quote:
Advice I have found is this Quote:

If you prompted into the system32 direction, just type rename uxtheme.dll uxtheme.dll.new
Or if you have your Vista cd, it has features to repair bad files necessary to windows.

You can't give a .dll file a .new extension, it doesn't exist, the file wouldn't open.
Make it uxthemenew.dll. I believe the command is rename. Don't quite remember though...

well that’s cause vista glazz renames the original ones to uxtheme.dll.vgorg
so I am going to rename those back and rename the others to .dll.new anyway it didn’t work cause I am not managing to get into command prompt I put it into somebody else’s PC and it still doesn’t work as they just get the message you do not have the rights to edit this folder or whatever its gay but I’m just gonna get a new hard drive install vista and then copy across anything I need and format the old one I needed more space anyway but thank you for the info on the renaming stuff

. you patched with 32bit Files i knew because that happened to me. DID you make backup of your original files?Use CMD to move the original files. Do you have windows DVD? or press f8 button while starting your system and find recovery/ restore.( i havent try this) Move your HDD to another computer, download and copy my files below. If these dont work, Just reformat your HDD I have uxtheme.dll, shsvcs.dll, and themeui.dll for 64 bit. Heres the link. chose the x64 one. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=9...996b3247942219
