humm, right.. long time no speak...
but i need your advice... i am running Windows XP SP1... just done a clean format, because i wanted to stop my cpu from spiking... this just didnt work... i have look at the task manager to see what uses most cpu... but it doesnt seem to spike when i have the task manager open... this is becoming annoying as i produce music on FLStudio and my sound keeps jumping and i have to have the sound set at full buffer... also when i am playing music, it skips like a cd... but its not running from a cd i have also just done a defrag and a clean up... any help would be appreciated... thanks

its prolly a short in a cable somewhere, or your speakers, or your soiund card, another likely cause is to much load on the proc.

Are you stable on a cpu overclock, if you are overclocking? Are your pci/agp locks on?

right, i have checked inside my system nothing seems to be wrong with any of the connections, i have gone back to stock cpu settings, and it still seems to be the same...
i went in to device manager, but i couldnt find what i was meant to be looking for... im running my sound through "sb live drive II" to a kenwood PA... but the connections there are also fine..

well your power supply could be the problem, maybe everything isnt getting enough juice, and how big are the spikes? large or small?

in the task manager says that the spikes are using the CPU at 100%...
it's becoming annoying, because, as i said, i produce music and when the sound skips contantly... well you can guess the rest... hummm... i will check tha power supply...
