seriously though with only 600mhz might as well just downgrade to 98se or do a dual boot it would fix some capitibility problems i know some of my games like daytona usa or sega rally wont run in xp despite setting the compatibility mode to 98 so i would do dual boot.

Well if you didn't know already, this computer shipped with windows98SE, never had any trouble with none of my older games or slightly new ones. Ever since changing to XP, i have been having issues to a point.

I just decided to go ahead and buy my secondary computer , i will do so in a few weeks, but i will start looking today. I should kept to my word and thats what i plan to do. Go back to using windows98SE on this rig and enjoy all of my older games in peace, and in a few weeks buy my secondary computer powerful computer and use that rig for the new and newer games , software.

Clearly , XP is not meant for older games.

Many of those games were optimized for Glide, utilizing dx as a backup renderer. Naturally, they looked like crap on anything but 3dfx.

This is why OpenGL is superior. Quake 2 still runs perfectly from the first time i played it in Win95 until Vista.

Legendary do you not think its time to move up in the world and build / buy a decent computer? rather than running on a P3 and so on..

Actually its better then you know, once you get everything working on it. You won't have any issues. I never had any major issues with the OS. Only thing i didn't like, if a game or program crash, you have to restart your computer every damn time.

Because i can play about 70% of all my games at nearly 60fps without issues. Windows98se play pretty much all my games, the older ones and slightly new ones just fine. With XP, they tend to struggle. WHY GO BACK YOU ASK?

DUDE, I AM ALREADY BACK TO USING WINDOW98SE RIGHT NOW

But i am having so much trouble getting everything back to normal.

I have been trying ever since i upgraded to windowsXP, as much as i like to play those new games, i want to play all my other games in peace too. So i will just buy a new computer soon for the newer ones and keep this rig for the older ones. Problem sovle!

Use DosBox for those. and there are many Dos games that completely put these new storyless shoot um uppers to shame.
