Default 64bit to 32bit processes

I just got Vista 64bit and I was wondering if games like Counter Strike Source even though running in 32bit emulation, will still take advantage of the 64bit os's advantages. (and really any other processes in general running in 32*)

No because they undergo the 32-bit emulation which limits their advantage for 64-bit

there are some advantages, but it is more from the 64 bit os rather than the program (like better memory useage and mapping).

Thanks, blupupher, that's more of an answer im looking for. I know that the program it's self getting nothing out of it, but with being on a 64bit os and getting anything at all from it was what I was asking. Guess I was not clear enough.

As you know Cyberdyne12, many people choose Vista 64-bit edition because they want to use more than 3.2-3.5GB of RAM in their system; therefore, the ability to have more RAM available will help programs and games in general.

Since CSS is not a game utilized for the 64-bit system, it will not experience the performance boost of programs that ARE utilized for a 64-bit system (many designing and CAD programs for instance).

Seeing that gaming is mainly dependent on the GPU though, I believe you will see little difference. You will probably find CSS starting up faster in Vista 64 than in XP because of Superfetch. The allowance of more RAM will also make your performance better.
