no bad things about updating really.
aside from a little hiccup i got with my wireless card and "wlanapi.dll" which stemmed from a signed driver issue anyway.

and even then all i had to do was dig up the old wlanapi.dll from pre-sp3 and copy it to the wireless utility's program folder.

SP 3 is nothing like SP 2 was. There were many improvements with SP2 that you could actually tell from a performance standpoint.
I like SP3 because 95% of the updates are there when I do a fresh install, so it is much quicker to get a system running.

Good to see a reply from an AMD user,

I heard the SP3 update caused major issues for AMD CPU's when it first came out, I guess all those issues have been resolved yes. Reason I ask, I've just had my system updated with new parts (Graf Card, CPU, RAM) and don't want to turn my system into a useless big door stop....

Thanks

I noticed no differences between XP SP2 and XP SP3. Except for that annoying security alert when you open files after downloading them online.

I have installed it on 7+ AM2 systems without a glitch.

SP3 did not agree with AMD cpu's at first. However this problem has now been fixed so you need not worry.

I never had a probelm with the last 2 BETA's of SP3 or the final (well 1 problem with one of the BETA's, but not a CPU problem, it was a Remote desktop issue).
