Hey everyone, I have a problem with shutting down or putting my computer on standby. Everytime I go to start and hit shut down for the box with the option to either standby, shutdown or restart my computer, it doesn't come up. My cursor just turns to the sand glass thing and I'm unable to do anything. I have to open up the task manager in order to put it on standby or shut it down, can anyone tell me how to fix this problem please?

make sure suspend and acpi are enabled in your bios, those are what generally control shutdown/suspend are controlled by. also, make sure nothign is hung in task manager- you might just have a broken program waiting.
