Sorry misunderstood at the windows setup you press f6 when it prompts you at the bottom to install third party drivers and then it goes to the spot where windows tells you to insert your drivers there for setup to load them.

I don't have a floppy drive so I tried using nlite to incorporate them.
__________________I downloaded the second driver on this page: http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us and slipped it into the xp install disk. I am still getting the same error. Did I download the right driver?

Checking for you.
Edit: The link went to the main download page. expanded the + and there are like 4 raid drivers there 3 are the same brand just updated versions and one is the intel one. Do you know if you have the promise raid controller or the intel raid conroller ?

I don't think I do. I was just adding a multiple driver folder. What is the correct procedure?

Reset your BIOS to defaults and do not disable anything or modify it
only modify your CPU/clock settings and go, ive had this issue with disabling things like certain options/ports
