So last night installed VISTA 32bit and the install went well without a problem and i got all drivers loaded also without a problem and was surfing the net and it installed 54 updates before i wanted it shut down
__________________Now should the configuring update screen stay for long or should it be a quick thing as i found it to take "AGES" to do whatever its doing and at one point it restarted my machine and then came back to the configuring updates screen again taking another long time. It also decided to install another 54 updates and it took forever to do that and then the long time sitting at the configuring update screen. I know updates can take there time and the actual install of the updates went as quick as i'd expected but the configuration took IMO longer than i should have. Thats the only current things that bugged me about vista and i don't want to have to say its a peice of crap.

Yeah, just let them update. It did that to me when I first installed vista and reinstalled all of the updates.

After a fresh install, there are typically a number of updates that need to be installed - and can sometimes take a good while. Successive updates shouldn't be anywhere near as long, but this is perfectly normal.

yup perfectly normal it can be made slower by having a slow hard disk or an IDE drive (they take slightly longer to process and write the information), SATA are the way to go nowadays anyway!
good luck with overclocking it! i have vista installed on my rig now, after getting too annoyed with XP (reinstalled 5 times replaced mobo and ram!) but alls working well now al i have to do is save up and wait for my next rig! planning something big! ![]()

Only got 2 IDE drives at the moment although i will swap the drive with Vista on it for a bigger SATA one as 40gb is not really enough and i need about a least an 80gb for installing games, programs etc....
