ok my dads friend from work(he no longer works with my dad) is a mcse and he gave me a copy for a 1yr. trial of xp pro 64-bit a week ago and told me I could upgrade it to the full version (non-trial) but my dad forgot to ask him how before he moved away, do any of you know what he was talking about.
PS. he said it was free so I dont know any thought/ideas are appreciated!

I have never heard of a 1 year free trial For XP 64bit unless it was a beta version and he was a beta tester. I doubt it can be upgraded to a full version. You might have to just buy a new OEM or retail version.

dang, and yeah he is a beta tester (MCSE) Microsoft Certified System Engineer he got 6 free copies of itand gave me one
