Default Promise Raid and Vista64

Hello guys,

I have been using a Promise FastTrak S150 SX4-M hardware raid adapter for years. However, I've got myself a copy of Vista-64 Ultimate. I'm about to make the jump to the new OS.

However, Promise doesn't supply a Vista-64 driver for this raidadapter. The question is, would Vista support any of the Promise raid adapters out of the box?

Is there anyone around here who could check out the new hardware wizard and see what's available for the Promise brand? I'd like to know, otherwise I will have to buy a new Promise raid card with vista 64 drivers eventhough my current card works just fine.

It must be a Promise card, so I don't need to wipe/rebuild the entire array. Likewise, I would be screwed if I were to install to Vista without a driver available. If I need a new card in the end, I put off installing Vista.

Thanks for any help

Thanks,

Well. I'll still install Vista. Before doing so I'll just make a ghost image of my OS partition. If Vista works fine with the controller then no loss, otherwise I can just restore my current XP partition and look for a solution.

Success! Use the the SX4100 from the Promise site. It works for the s150 sx4-m in Vista64.
but...... it's an unsigned driver so at each boot you have to F8 or BCDEDIT.
